Great Bang for Buck, Better Than Past Generations!!!

Noise/Temp:
MSI 2070 Armor OC has been running cool (65 max), mostly silently for couple of days now. You can tell it’s well built. There is little to no fan noise with normal range for idle/gaming but there still is a slight noise when the card cools down. I guess slowing down the fans create wobbling that probably makes the fan blades to touch the heat sink. Not too bad, barely audible, but hope it doesn’t get worse. There’s no coil whine with this which is excellent.

Performance:
Unigine extreme benchmark gave a score of 3022 – impressive for out of the box performance. I’ve searched other 2070s’ benchmarks and they mostly scored around 2800 without overclock. 1080p gaming is a breeze for this guy and unlike some reviews I’ve read, RTX without DLSS still gave me 55+ fps which is fine for single player (BFV). DLSS would’ve gave me more fps but don’t need to give up anything if 55+ fps is all you are looking for.

Overall Impression:
I still would’ve bought GTX 1080 if the price was right. But overall very happy with the purchase and unless it breaks, I’m going to keep this one. Yes the fan noise could get worse but frankly which card doesn’t? It’s the coil whine that’s the deal breaker and at least this one is clear of it. I’ve been gaming happily with this card and the fact that it doesn’t make me go back to my silent RX580, I would say it is well worth the upgrade.
